Weary Nights

It wasn’t every night but more often than not, I found myself crying myself to sleep. My mother never wanted that for me. I’m sure not even my father would wish that on me.

My happiness turned dark and cold.

We became me.

Everything I thought I sure of crumbled leaving ash and debris.

An earthquake took place in my heart — shattered and cracked by the meaningless lies and secrets.
